There’s a lot of pressure on us kids to make each Father’s Day special every year. We want to show our dad just how much we love and appreciate them and how much they mean to us, but it’s difficult to do that year in and year out without running out of ideas. In today’s article, we’re hoping to help inspire you to put together a fun and memorable Father’s Day for your pops this year and maybe for years to come. But, you shouldn’t feel too much pressure to make everything perfect for him, he will appreciate anything you do for him or even if you don’t do anything for him but just give him a hug and say Happy Father’s Day, he will appreciate it. So don’t sweat it too much! But, if you want to go above and beyond this year, here are some ways that you can make it special.
Does your dad have a long-dormant home improvement or hobby project that has fallen by the wayside lately? Is he in the middle of restoring an old car or motorcycle or piece of furniture and hasn’t had the time or the components to finish it? Does he have a hobby that he loves to do but just hasn’t had the time lately and all of his components are just collecting dust? If you answered yes to any or all of these things, then you can use them to help make this year’s Father’s Day extra special.
Quietly check out your dad’s dormant project and see what it will need to get to the finish line. Does he just need time and space or does he need some parts or supplies that he hasn’t ordered yet? Find out what he needs to make it happen and then make it happen! He will love to have that project finally off of his list and the memories of completing it with you together will last him a lifetime.
Does your dad like to learn new and interesting things? Is he a trivia buff or history buff? Then you may want to search around for some local niche museums that you could surprise him with. For interesting museums in and around Boise, here are a few that you might be interested in:
Here’s a relatively easy one that he will definitely appreciate more than the last tie pin that you got him last year. Sneakily see if you can grab his car keys or ask to borrow his car for a mundane sounding reason and then take it to the nearest car wash and go crazy on it. Get it the very best wash package and then take it over to the vacuum area and really detail out the inside. Or, you can even just wake up early on Father’s Day and head out with a bucket and some wash rags and just do it in the driveway while he’s asleep or sipping his morning coffee. Either way, it will be an awesome surprise that will be sure to brighten his day.
